The Bottle Tree Village at 60 Jalan Mempurong in Sembawang features some unusual looking trees. The owners of this F&B establishment bought 4 bottle trees from Australia and they become the mascot of the place. Two of the trees are in the Bottle Tree Village and 2 are at the Bottle Tree Park in Yishun.
On record, there are some 31 species of the Bottle Trees and the one in the village is the Queensland Bottle Tree (Brachychiton Rupestris). The tree has that unique bottle shape and could grow up to 20m in height. The swollen trunk is used primarily to hold water.
